ROAD TRIPS ARE IMPORTANT. NOT JUST FOR THE OBVIOUS REASONS OF CAMARADERIE, EXPLORATION, AND GETTING BETTER CONNECTED WITH THE SURROUNDINGS AS WELL AS A DEEPER CONNECTION WITH YOUR CHOMS, ALL REASONS THAT PROBABLY MAKES SCOUTS SO ATTRACTIVE TO PARENTS.
More importantly, we wanted to make a trip happen that brings the magazine together, that shows the level of skating as it is today through the lense of a new generation. We needed to hit the road so we can fill these pages and simul- taneously bring a bunch of people together for an adventure. Plus, it’s a must needed break from the spots that we frequent in the city every weekend.
With the mag in the kitchen and ST(E)AK cooking all the articles, we still had 20 empty pages to fill. So we planned a 10 day trip starting in Mosselbaai and exploring towns through to St. Helena Bay on the West Coast. Our mission is to revisit classic spots in small towns with fresh eyes and to see what else we can uncover along the way. There’s always talk of the next Euro trip when we have so much to explore in small-town South Africa.
