Session has been documenting skateboarding in South Africa since September 2002 when our first issue was released. Our scene is very active and pretty well-known to the wider world of skateboarding. But throughout that time skateboarding has been growing across the wider Africa region too. This page of our site is dedicated to skateboarding clips that have been documented in various nations throughout Africa (outside of South Africa). Please note that these clips are simply a selection that we have chosen to show skateboarding in each place, either by local skaters in the particular country or created by touring skateboarders visiting that particular country. We are in no way claiming that these are the only skate clips to represent each country, as of course locals in each place produce tons of content on their social platforms. We’re just hyped to see that skateboarding is happening across Africa and this is a little inspiration from a few places that perhaps you didn’t know about before.
Check out #Africaisrolling on instagram for content we’ve collected that has been uploaded by local skaters in various different countries.
