adidas Skateboarding and Baseline Skate Shop present ‘Battle of the Benches’ Skate Copa Edition
Skateboarders from the greater Cape Town area were invited to take part in the team challenge at Civic Centre in the CBD. The individuals were divided up into teams representing Brazil (Captain – Khulu Dlamini, Manager – Clint van der Schyf) and England (Captain – Dlamini Dlamini, Manager – Adrian Day). JJ Harris was the referee.
The teams gathered at Baseline on Kloof Street before bombing down to Civic where the match was held. Pieter Retief sorted the permit with city officials to ensure activities could proceed smoothly. Following the match, prize-giving and Manager interviews were conducted back at the shop where adidas supplied free beers for all.
